Years ago I saw a Levinson Blade Strat type (RH4 I think) that had a fantastic finish, Ash body, black but the grain was highlighted in silver, gloss with a mirrored guard. Never saw another in all these years but I just saw these and whilst it doesn't look as classy as the Blade it would be my next guitar if I could stretch to it, as a big G&L fan this one ticks all my boxes for a mean machine.

Nice!

I think most black guitars need an all maple neck to give them a bit of an aesthetic kick.

When I was trying to decide on a color for my build I stumbled across some pics of guitars with a similar finish, but not quite that awesome ... I read that the technique involves black paint , then a white or silver grain filler for those nice big pores before the clear coat. I bet with some test wood and practice you could achieve that yourself !

That's really close to how I plan to finish my next project (swamp ash star).
