Wanted - bright humbucker

looking for a pair of buckers for a thinline style project guitar.
Mahogany with 1/4" maple top and mahogany neck w rosewood board.
I want a pair of buckers that will give a strong and bright sound with
planty of cut and good harmonic overtones. The bass response needs to
be solid and tight. I cant stand mudbuckers.

I have thought of using a set
firebird [minibuckers] or maybe pearly gates.

I am open to suggestions

I use a Duncan ANT II firebird bridge (higher output) pups in the neck and that fits the bill for me. The way I set my amps the CC or C5 is a good choice but they get into that dirt zone you may be trying to avoid.

So maybe you want to try a Pearly Gates for the bridge paired with the Firebird in the neck. I did end up potting mine (firebird) due to some microphonics at high gain.

mmm i don't mid a bit of hair on it just dont like the mushy/muddy sound i hear from some bucker guitars. some peoplecall it warm. i figure i would use the brightest bucker i can get. i am used to teles & strats so i like a good strong bright tone...i never used buckers much in the past 40 years so its kinda new territory for me.

The Scremin Demon will be your best bet for bright and a solid bottom end.

BTW, its not scremin!

I've never used them myself, but a lot of the guys here, say the Jazz is a nice bright bucker.

I just got a Dimarzio EJ classic (neck). It's supposed to have single-coil brightness (it's the most trebley/clear pup made by Dimarzio, it is made to sound like a Gretsch country gentleman.

It'll be a while before I have it/hear it but you may want to check that out.

Bright , percussive , with tight bottom , and not scooped = Demon bridge and Jazz neck .
And the Demon screams a lot with high gain !
Both are beautiful when split .
