:laugh2: I hoped that the title would draw attention to this somewhat boring question. :laugh2:

Anybody know of a good supplier of quality single conductor shielded wire for use in guitars?

What is everybody using?

Brand names and reference numbers would be very helpful.

I went to the local luthier and bought some from them but was really a pain to work with. The conductor was an extremely small guage and the (clear looking) insulation on the conductor pulled out (from under the shield) when I tried to strip the insulation off. The outside diameter of the complete wire was also quite large (due to thick insulation)and this made it bulky.

I'm bumpin this once in the hopes that I'll get at least one response.

The strippers title thing was meant as a joke....if it ticked some (or many) people...well...I'm sorry...maybe somebody had a laugh.

Somebody has got to be buying this wire somewhere !!

It you are looking locally, break out the phone book and look for electrical/electronics suppliers. You should be able to find Belden 1, 2, 3 or 4 conductor-sheilded 22 or 24 guage stranded wire locally and pretty cheap.

I think I paid $16 for a 100' spool of the 4 conductor locally. Great stuff if you re-wire Gibson style guitars.
