Warm Humbucker

I have a 4 string flat top plectrum acoustic guitar that is built on the concept of a archtop. I would like to get a humbucker to mount at the at the base of the neck - like a neck-pickup. I recognize that I would need to get a 6-string pickup. There seem to be multiple choices of humbuckers. How do you pick one that has a warm, full sound that brings out the lower tones, as I am not eager to advance the treble sound? Thanks.

Welcome to the forum!

The Alnico 2 pro humbucker is super warm. You could get the bridge model to make it even warmer.

Look to dimarzio.

They have a bunch more options than duncan.

Air norton
Liquifire
Breed neck
bc2
Most of the petrucci pickups

There are others.

If you really want something super warm, look at the air norton s. The single sized version is just about the warmest neck pickup i know of.

No duncan is going to touch that. They seem to emphasize treble and detail.

Agree with Clint’s recommendation of a SD A2Pro.
