Warmoth SS6105 vs SS6150

Anyone play both of these care to comment on what you like or don't like about themand how they compare? They're the same height but the SS6150's are wider.

Yesterday I ordered a new custom warmoth neck with SS6105's and I'm thinking maybe I shoulda ordered SS6150's. I thought my mim strat has closer to vintage frets, and I've been comfortable with them, but it appears mine is a newer models with medium jumbo, which my other guitars have had and I've been ok with.

I've read a lot about differences in other forums where i'm not a member, but I figured I'dget your thoughts, especially giveb it's an extra $25 to make the change. I don't mind paying if there's big difference in feel. But if not I'd like to save the dough.

Thanks

I've got SS6105 in all my three, can't think of a reason why I'd want to pick anything else. I can only say that for me, they're about perfect. Tall enough to get a good grip on the string, but not so tall as I feel like I'm playing in a scalloped neck. The first neck I got didn't even need dressing. The other two trimmed out with the least effort imaginable. As far as width goes, I can't imagine needing anything bigger than the 6105's.

Excellent, thank you!! I think I'll stick the SS6105's then.

I do see that many players like the SS6105, but so many also like the SS6150 and I just freaked a little when I realized my strat's are wider. I've read about differences in feel while sliding up the neck, etc.

I now recall that my reverend rocco may have had smaller frets (sold it), and I had no problems diggin in or moving around on it.

Re: Warmoth SS6105 vs SS6150

I have one with the 6105 and prefer it to the standard jumbo sized frets (I assume similar size to the 6150) on another.

Re: Warmoth SS6105 vs SS6150

My advice is to go with 6100 true Jumbo frets in all instances. The world had progressed. There are hi tech compound Radii. Very hi tech dual action truss rodage.
Why would you want your guitar to be anachronistic?
I could see it of you were restoring one, or making a replica for anecdotal purposes.Otherwise use the best technology for the best and fastest , lowest action playing guitar ever known to men.

FWIW, I've got SS6115's on my guitar. They are *perfect*. Bigger than 6105's but only just by a hair, and not railroad-tracks big.
