wat are emgs lower brand

i have a really old lafeyette short scale bass and since its impossible to get those parts i had to get standard bridge and i had to cut more of the body to fit in a jazz pickup but the strings get closer as u go more toward the neck and pole pickups wouldnt pick it up right so the way emgs are set up would be perfect exept u have to get everything emg for it to work rite but i know they have a duncan designed type thing that i dont think has it wat is it and where can i get it

The standard EMG's are the top of the line
The EMG HZ's are next
The EMG selects are the bottom of the EMG chain.

its for my friend and hes limitted to wat he can do wiring wise with plug ends
