Wax potting at home

it doesn't perfectly penetrate the windings , anyway it works in most of the cases and it's however better than an unpotted pickup if it gives you problem (I always think unpotted pickups sound better, but I recognize there are environments where they are a PITA to work with) .
Have a JB that went microphonic at some point after fiddling with various magnets and pole pieces. I potted it with some white odourless candle paraffin and the problem went away. Still sounds great, but I'm keen to learn more on this subject nevertheless.

thank you all for your input

the delay between when I think of a project and actually execute is far, far too long - I'll report back when I'm done

Lindy Fralin just dropped a new vid this morning. I direct you to the point he lifts the pickup from the wax - you can see the dirt come out of the pickup. My guess is they just changed the wax out for the New Year, because the last couple vids the wax has been a bit cloudy. Enjoy!

I've done it a couple of different ways, the right ways and the frowned upon ways too.

My favorite (aka the easiest way) is just burn your wife's big stinky candle until it's deep enough for a pickup to be completely submerged.

Submerge it, and bang it a few times with a butter knife to knock all the bubbles out, call it good. I couldn't tell it was any better or worse than ones I did the right way ... Plus it smells good.

I was wondering if a strawberry pine JB was in my future

It may be
