Have you heard about the weber beam blocker? for dissapating highs?
Maybe all I need are these beam blockers to get rid of the high frequency crap in my vintage 30s????

Also, has anyone tried the Weber 12v ceramic? 12 inch speaker?

SRV used a piece of duck tape on the front of his vibroverb. it diffused the highs pretty well. THe beam blocker is a high tech piece of duck tape.

I've got one in 15" size to go with my newly reconed JBL D130F *if* Weber ever gets it to me! It's been damn near a month now.

Anyone tried these? I have a2 v30s and 2 g12k100 speakers in a Mesa oversized cab. I think its a little bright. I am not sure what size to get for each speaker so I am thinking of getting one of each. The v30 has a small cone and the g12k100 has a larger one but I am not sure if I should use the bigger one on the v30 as it states that it disapates the upper mids with the 5 inch version and disapates the highs with the 4 inch version. What do I need to get rid of the v30s bad qualities??

Finally tried the Beam blocker. I tried every combination of the 4 inch and 5 inch versions on my Mesa cab loaded with 2 vintage 30s on top and 2 g12k100 speakers on the bottom.
The v30s need the 5 inch version to get rid of alot of the annoying frequencies. The 4 inch version still retains some sizzle and while being less annoying, it still needs the 5 inch version in my oppinion. The g12k100 speakers dont really need them at all and actually lose a little oomph with either version. I would not use the 5 inch version on the g12k100 but the 4 inch version is ok if you dont mind losing a little life from the speaker in return for a less high tone. I bought 1 of each and now have them on the v30s. I will be ordering 1 more of the 5 inch version for the v30 and selling the 4 inch version.
Note: I had to buy some "Ultra heavy duty" felt strip 1/2 x 60 inches made by waxman at Meijer shopping center here in Michigan. It is made for furniture as not to scratch wood floors etc. You have to put it on the seal of the speaker and cut where the holes are to mount the speaker. The Beam blockers are too close to the speaker and press against it slightly and they rattle unless you make the speaker farther away, hence the felt strip. In retrospect, I probably would have placed the sticky side of the felt strip on the wood instead of the speaker itself as once its on, its on.

I would definateley recommend the beam blocker for speakers such as the v30 or g12t75

Wouldn't it be easier just to use duct tape? It would've saved you the effort of having to remount your speakers.

Re: Weber speaker beam blocker??? like dislike dont care??

Seems to me that you could cut out a cardboard circle and tape it to the front of your cabinet right in front of the speaker and get the same effect.

Re: Weber speaker beam blocker??? like dislike dont care??

Or skip the cardboard and just use tape.

Seriously, it works. All you're doing is blocking the beam that comes off the dust cap in the centre of the speaker....

Re: Weber speaker beam blocker??? like dislike dont care??

First off, you dont see it. secondly its exactly over the cone third the material is made of the same as the speaker cone, with the radius opposite of the cone thus diffusing more evenly than duct tape. Its only $15 per blocker. In that same way of thinking I am sure I could just use some coat hangers to fix up my exhaust with. Yee haw
