"weekly amp reviews"......what do you all think?

Since it's no great secret I'm an amp tech, I started thinking I might go ahead and review some of the gear I get in to be repaired... I honestly get to play through some of the absolute finest new and vintage amps made...

For example, this week's "noteworthy's" included a 1961 Fender Brown Super, VHT Pitbull 50/CL w/eq and a Red Bear MK120..... there are very few amps that I haven't played through, although most of the gear I get in is pretty "common", but it's always cool!!!

I'm not quite as "opinionated" as most might think (..basically, If you can plug a guitar into it.....it's 1000x better than a TV!) so I promise to only see the best in things and try to keep it "positive" other than expressing my personal "taste".....

What do you think?????...... yay or nay?

.....I might need some help on determining "categories" to be addressed... like "build quality", "versatility" etc.... Maybe you all can decide on what's really important to include...

I would love to see it, JS. Use your best judgement as far as content goes. It will probably be different with the things that are unique to each amp. I trust your judgement.

I would check with the Ev man... I don't know if this site would lead to an issue with biz relationships and the Duncan brand, I could see some issues if the maker is not hear to respond to a stated opinion. Do you have your own site where perhaps you could link us to it? I like the idea, but saw some caution flags go up as I thought about it.

Do it! I want to hear what you thought of that VHT!

Re: "weekly amp reviews"......what do you all think?

I think it would be of great help. I'd especially like to know why some amps are so "ify." I don't want to mention brand names because now would not be proper. But you read of a particular model from a manufacturer that's either hit or miss. Either it works all the time or it's in the shop all the time. How one guys amp can fall down a flight of stairs and still work, but another guy with the same model who plays at home has nothing but trouble with it. Why is that?? That's what I'd like to know.

that would be too cool man...i know everyone would look forward to that!!!

Re: "weekly amp reviews"......what do you all think?

I'm all for it, but I agree to some extent with Kevlar...if you go about making it look "official"...that may not be "cool" with the Duncan-folk. I'd check first.

But no doubt I think it's a great idea.
