Weeping Demon Wah

Reining PunLowered
Well, it arrived today. I only got to play it for a few minutes AFTER church. I did not plug it in during church because I had not had a chance to tweak it.

The manual is pathetic.

The Wah seems amazing, but I need to figure out how to get what I want.

How do you use yours? What are your favorite settings? What mode do you use most?

In other words, share your tips. Pretty please? With sugar on top?

Re: Weeping Demon Wah

I've got one and I love it, however I don't really have any memorized settings. I just plug in and twist until I get a wah I like. I do leave it set though so that I don't have to kick any buttons. You just put your foot on it and wah. Take your foot off and it's back to the basic amp.

Re: Weeping Demon Wah

You HAVE to experiment.

The thng about Wah's is that with each different amp and guitar, the range and what's required to get that effect changes. What works for my 73' Strat into my Deluxe Reverb Reissue is TOTALLY different than what works for my Trace Elliot and a Les Paul.

However, what I can tell you, is to adjust the peak. Listen to it and get an idea of the range of the Wah. Adjust to that there; add more of a range f you need to or scale it back if neccesary. Tip it all the way forward and listen to hear if it's too much for you or not enough and adjust accordingly.

Keep us posted!

Re: Weeping Demon Wah

Thanks. I don't know how much I'll get to tinker with it this week. I'm preparing for a short solo gig next week, and most of it will be on keys, with a couple of acoustic songs. Maybe a couple of backing track-vocal performances.

Re: Weeping Demon Wah

So LS, how long do you think it will take for you to be excommunicated for owning a pedal w/ such a blasphemous name, AND playing it in church? :D

Re: Weeping Demon Wah

Blasphemous? We're collecting them on stage. We like for demons to weep in our church.

Re: Weeping Demon Wah

Well, I was using a select few with the xt Live. Now that I'm back to using an amp, I had to rebuild my pedal collection. About the only things I would add after these is a Visual Volume (I LOVED the one I had) and a Twin Tube Classic. For now, the TTC has to wait. I already have a TS9 that is working adequately.

All I've added since buying the Franklin is the Phase 90, a DD6, and the Weeping Demon. I already had the Dynacomp (which, remarkably, I'm using LESS than when I used the xt Live), and the TS9.

Re: Weeping Demon Wah

There are a couple of sample settings in the manual.
it's a good starting point and then just tweak to taste from there.
