i finally finished building my telemaster!
basic specs are
BODY:- solid mahogany with THICK slightly spalted flame maple cap
NECK:- flame maple with bocote fretboard and skunk stripe, ebony wood fret dots. bone nut. reverse headstock.
PICKUPS:- neck- duncan vintage for tele, bridge- custom 5.
wired with two volumes (both cts, 250k for neck 500k for bridge)
reverse control plate.
WEIGHT:- heavy!
finish-
BODY- clear nitro
NECK- tinted oil
here are the pics, please excuse the crappy pics, they really don't do this guitar justice :-
this is how i received the body.
and after months of waiting on parts and building, soldering, drilling etc...here is the complete guitar
check out the flame! also there are natural marks in the wood that look like finish flaws. i also like the light spalting
the camera doesn't pick up the flame on the headstock too well, the pics don't do it justice.
i love the fretboard!
look how thick the cap is. i was a little concerned until i plugged it in!
nice flame maple neck, again the camera didn't pick it all up! nice mahogany back!
i haven't had much play time yet but all i can say is this guitar sustains for DAYS. much more then my sg and lp special!
the neck pickup is a little unbalanced with the bridge pickup output wise, but that's why i wired it up with 2 volumes and no tone. i also haven't had much time to tinker with pickup heights etc. might go for something hotter in the neck in the future
i hope to have more time playing and tweeking and hopefully get some clips up soon!
