Went Shopping Today on the Net

Darn that www.gbase.com site...

I was looking at various Victoria amps for sale and came across this slightly used Victoria 2x10 combo (empty, no amp, no speakers)

It's only missing it's feet. Laquered, leather handle. 200 bucks. I can't have one built for that, plus now my new Mission Amps Super 5F4 is going to have a really nice home.

Sure wish Bruce would sell me that kit soon! :)

A new guitar porn site for me lol. never heard that one but looks good.

And back to the subject, very nice home for your custom amp.

Gbase or the Guitar Mall is a collection of small operation guitar shops for the most part. They pool their resources to make for one very nice place to find gear, especially vintage stuff. Their prices are a bit high on some things, but they are small shops, and usually have a bit of wiggle-room on the price.

That's how I found my Heritage 535 goldtop.

Re: Went Shopping Today on the Net

Ask the seller a lot of questions about the chassis dimensions, because sometimes there can be a small problem fitting a different chassis to it. This one's probably a safe bet, but make sure. I bought an empty Matchless DC-30 cab for $200 once, thinking it would be killer to have a vintage Marshall chassis in it. Didn't work.

Re: Went Shopping Today on the Net

Well, I asked Bruce at Mission Amps about his chassis dimensions and verified that with the seller (Guitars Etc.). It's all good. Bruce tells me that Victoria has used 3 different cab makers over the years. This one was done in 2003, and I know what amp chassis was in there, so no problem. If it is, it'd just be the cleats that hold on the back panel. No biggie to modify.
