So, some gear was sold and more to go, which will cover this purchase, but...

I went to the Rondo site hoping to get a Douglas or something to get my first 7-string (yeah, 51 years old and I wanna play even MORE metal) and I went hog-wild, bat$%@# crazy and got not one...not two...but three guitars! Shipped today, hopefully I'll have pics and reviews by the weekend. To quote Captain Picard in Star Trek: Generations, at my age you realize there are more sunsets behind you than there are ahead. I knew I could sell stuff I like and have accumulated, but just don't really use to pay for this purchase AND have money left so I did it. I've owned three Agiles before and I loved all three (LP copies) so I'm confident I'm going to really like these guitars. I cannot WAIT to customize the Valkyrie and Hawker with push/pull pots, Duncans, maybe a phase switch, orange drops. Mmmm.

Also got a new amp for a sick deal....if it works right. Bugera 333 combo at MF for $169, supposedly works fine, looks terrible. Wish me luck on THAT one. Couldn't pass it up for that price either.

Like a 57 Chevy, lol. Unfortunately, the Peavey Windsor will be one of the sacrifices, but I never use it and I will use these three guitars all the time.

Kurt may discontinue the Hawker. He threw a free case in for mine and told me that it just wasn't selling like it should. I guess they're doing well with the other models. I nearly pulled the trigger on a Hawker 7, but saw the Interceptor and it was a no brainer for me.

Probably because of the "butt cut" that they had to put on to make PRS happy.

I may have to get another PS-970 at some point.

I was thinking about the Hawker a while back but I couldn't get past that name. Every time I hear it I think of a guy loading up a for a big loogie.

They're HEEEERE! I've got Bronchitis, so it may be a few days before I get some pics up, but so far the guitars look so much better in person than in the photos, and the doubleneck and Hawker feel like they were custom made for my hands. They came set up beautifully, and quite honestly, I feel that they play better than any of the other Agiles I've had. They must be tweaking quality a little more each year maybe? Anyway, I can see it is going to take some getting used to with the seven string, but it plays very easy. All of them do. I put the Interceptor through my Valveking for a few minutes, but my ears are all clogged and I just couldn't handle any kind of volume. Initial feeling is that one day I'll be putting a Nazgul or Black Winter in the bridge, but let's see how it sounds when I'm better, and I can put it through the Badcat. The neck pickup sounded great imo, but it may just be that my ears can't handle a bridge pickup at the moment.

That'll be here tomorrow...but I'm not holding much hope for that one. A Bugera 333 combo from MF for $166. Said it was beat up but "works fine". With the rep Bugeras have, I won't be surprised if I have to return it, but my buddy has bought five or six, and so far, only troubles with the Trirec, and--you guessed it--a 333 combo, lol. He has the 333XL and Infinium, and both have been fine right outta the box, and have been for nearly a year.
