Wes Hauch Jupiter Rails vs. Sentient & Pegasus

I’m really lusting after the Wes Hauch signature Jupiter Rails pickup set. The sound samples in the promo video sound totally amazing. My only concern is that I may want more traditional pickups for greater versatility with some material. Are the Jupiter Rails pretty versatile or do you think I’d be happier with the Sentient & Pegasus set? What other things should I consider in deciding between them? Please only comment on pickups you’ve personally played or received feedback on first person. Thanks!

P.S. This set is going into a Les Paul Custom with a maple-capped mahogany body, mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard. Thanks, again!

Never tried the Jupiter. But the Pegasus/Sentient is pretty versatile with a very modern taste to it. The Pegasus I'd describe as dry and tight with a moderate output making sure it's not a one trick pony, the Sentient is a more focused version of something in the realms of 59 or Jazz.

I do know the Sentient/Pegasus set is pretty chug-a-licious, but does many other things well. It is certainly a more versatile set.

Both the Jupiter set and the Pegasus/Sentinet set are great in their own right but they're considerably different from each other.
Pegasus to my ears has a bit more warmth in there even though it's quite an articulate pickup like the Jupiter.
In terms of versatility I do think the Pegasus/Sentient set has a bit more of that over the Jupiter set.
But that being said, the Jupiters are surprisingly more versatile than you might expect, I've so far used them in various musical settings ranging from downtuned metal to 80s rock/hard rock stuff and beyond, and they actually performed really well and were more well-balanced than I'd initially expected.
These were in an LTD MH model guitar though, so I don't have the experience with them in this regard in a Les Paul like yours unfortunately.
Another potential possibility is to just use the Jupiter bridge pickup and pair it with the Sentient in the neck for a bit more versatility and options tone-wise?
I have used a Pegasus in a Les Paul before and loved it for the most part, definitely a good mix between a modern articulate tone and more classic humbucker tones.
