Read this article on John Dine's pedal board. Check out the underside too....

This is as tight as it gets -A little too big for me, but what a nice integration.

I Would LOVE one of those!!!!!!

Right now, I have a phone charger for my iPhone, and an app that just displays the time without the phone shutting the screen off. I also have a cheap auto store battery powered digital clock for the outside daytime shows.

oooh - that's a good idea too.

A benefit of having the majority of your pedals from the same manufacturer. Otherwise, it's hard to get pedals from different vendors to fit together that well.

Is there significantly more going on than what can be done with this?
The lit up one. The one on the left is not involved in the loop.

It's not really about how many things it can do, it's sometimes about picking best of breed and his preferences for a job

There are inherit advantages and disadvantages to this approach of course.

Well, my board has 128 banks. Each bank can have, I think, 12 different basic amp models, each with switchable gain, reverb, modulation and delay. It's got a tap tempo switch, a looper that can run on a different bank from whatever is played over the loop. Volume and expression pedals and an effects loop switch for the amp that acts like a clean boost if nothing is in the loop. There are dozens of models for the drive, reverb, modulation and delay with deep editing capability. And it all gets sent through 1 12ax7 preamp tube into 5 5881's. Not to shabby considering that it's 15 years old.

The modelling stuff is pretty cool, and has near infinite flexibility . . . but when you check out modelled stuff back to back with really high quality individual pedals for sound quality, it's unusual for the modeler to come out on top.

Now, does that really matter in a band playing live with all the weird inconsistencies you run into while playing live? Eh. Maybe (probably?) not.
