what are grounding loops on USA fender strats called

I'm not a fender player so I figured I'd ask you guys here. Do grounding loops have a technical name that I could get them on ebay or somewhere like it?

By grounding loops I'm referring to on USA strats how when you lift the pickguard up the grounding is attached with a small screw going through a metallic ring looking thing. But I'm sure you guys know it already just for 100% assurance for the people helping me.

I've swapped a bunch of USA fenders the last 2-3 months for customers as I'm still sort of new to working on peoples guitars and it seems a great idea for beginners doing their first project guitars or just something to fall back on if I'm not sure how to ground a strange new bridge to a guitar lets say.

thanks in advance

Those things are surprisingly hard to find. I wish everyone would use them rather than soldering to the back of pots, but . . . see sentence #1.

yeah I'm hoping it's a simple name I can google and find on a website like ebay because one instance this guy had a Warmoth telecaster body and it wasn't shielded at all and no ground wire so I wish I had a drawer full of them. Perhaps it's cheaper to mass produce import guitars without it?

There are a couple of different names for them. Solder Lug, Solder Terminal, Ring Terminal. When you do find them, buy a bunch of them as they are relatively inexpensive if you buy in bulk.

I love using these on Strat and Tele style guitars. I like to use multiple ones (2 to 3) on the same guitar for grounding different components ie. one for the trem claw, one for the input jack, and one for the electronics. It really makes it so much easier on a strat to just be able to unsolder 1 connection (hot wire from the jack), unscrew the solder lugs from the body and then take the whole entire pickguard off.

They can be tough to find, especially the exact size you want. I finally found them at ACME Guitarworks but I just found out they went out of business. The same fella (George) is still running the toneshaper site; if you contact them they might be able to help you out. Their part number was: AC-KIT-001 and they call them Ground Screw/Lug as a description. Hope that helps.

A piece of metal shim stock, cut to size, folded up, and carved out appropriately is all you need. You can get it at any hardware store.

itsabass it's a good worse case scenario to go with the "DIY" approach
I'll search for those now tune-o-matic
and I'll check out toneshapers right now if my ebay search comes across unsuccessfully
