What are the best pedals under $50

Some of the posts in Gibson175's thread got me thinking about inexpensive pedals. Someone mentioned The Bad Monkey as being a great find. Myself I love the BBE FREQ BOOST. It has probably been done before but let them fly. The best new or used under $50

Re: What are the best pedals under $50

Marshall Jackhammer ~$40
Boss DS-1 ~$15
Digitech Digiverb ~$40
Big Muff ~$40
MXR Phase 90 ~$40
Pro Co Rat ~$50

The list could go on and on

Re: What are the best pedals under $50

I saw a ds-1 at a pawn shop for ten bucks and passed it up.

Re: What are the best pedals under $50

Ibanez DE-7 ($30-50), check the thread I recently started about it.

Re: What are the best pedals under $50

A boss SD-1 and a big muff pi can cover a lot of territory together...

Throw a used crybaby in front and you're solid.

If you aren't opposed to clones, Joyo make some good stuff. I love my Sweet Baby. Mooer's retail at $88, but can be had on ebay for less than $50 pretty regularly. I have several Mooers that I also like (Hustle Drive, Flex Boost, Blue Faze and Blues Crab).

Re: What are the best pedals under $50

Three great pedals from JOYO:
1) Sweet Baby
2) Deluxe Crunch
3) Tremelo
All <$50 New
The amp modelers, American Sound and British Sound have great tone, but are noisy (Hiss) and require a noise reduction pedal in the chain. And BTW, the JOYO noise reduction pedal seemed worthless to me.

Re: What are the best pedals under $50

Killer TS9 clone.. bought mine for $29 shipped

3 rat's in 1 pedal...fantastic clone...I "won" mine for $23 shipped.

Killer fuzz for $50 shipped (now $60+ most places :p)

This is the Artec "Crazy Metal" pedal with a new paintjob. it's about $45 (for the Artec). Their "Soloist distortion" pedal is awesome too

Nux delay (got mine for $43 shipped)

Also the Behringer Hellbabe Wah.

...& Artec "Whish Wah" (costs a bit > $50 though)

Lots More...my Mooer Analog Delay & Pitch Box pedals are both awesome & I bought them for < $50 each (shipped) but they cost double that now.

My brother bought (from the same guy) a Vintage Tube Monster & Vintage Time Machine for $55.00 each.

OK, so it is just out side of the 50 buck bracket, but still, if you are big enough to look past the brand name, you get serious bang for your buck.

And it sounds GOOD through his AC15.

A great Overdrive that can pretty much cover tons of ground is the SD-1, which is also a killer pedal for bass too to get a gnarly growling tone.

I really dig the US Dream by Joyo. I think it was $33.00

The Arion Tubulator is worth an honorable mention. MF was blowing these out for $10 each a few years back. (I snagged two.) They're basically a Tube Screamer clone but sound similar to an vintage 808.

Re: What are the best pedals under $50

Okay, my two cents worth

On Chorus -- Danelectro Cool Cat Chorus (the 18 volt all metal late 1990's version) Too damm good!

Delay -- Have to second the recommend for the Ibanez DE-7. A real sleeper, can do a lot of tricks and can still be had for less than $50

Tube Screamer -- Anybody's guess but a Bad Monkey can fill the bill and meet the OP's criteria on price, have seen them for less than $20 on the forum.

Flanger ... welll now, I have to again go back to Ibanez.... various flavors but if you can find a CF7.....GRAB IT. Does Chorus too, but the flanger portion just about covers all the bases.

That's it for me for the under $50 club.
