what bridge pu with my van zandt blues?

Hi everybody,
I just bought a 57" reissue strat with a custom made ebony fingerboard and i have put a set of van zandt blue in it. My problem comes from the bridge pu : it sounds too thin. I'm looking for a pu with less trebble and more output, but still want it to sound like single coil... I tried a duncan five-two pickup this afternoon and i can say that it sounds way better (for my taste). I used to have a duncan stk1 classic bridge that i really dig (especially for the mediums that cut through the mix), but it doesn't match with the van zandt blues (for my taste once again).
I'm thinking about the duncan antiquity 1 custom bridge, the SSL3 or SSL6.

Any advice? I need help!!!

I'd say the Texas Hot Custom Bridge or the Twangbanger.

Those are my two favorite Duncan Strat bridge single coils and I use them both.

The Twangbanger is the heftier sounding of the two and I have a feeling you'd like it with your Van Zandts...check it out.

I like the Van Zandt Strat pickups, BTW. I have a set of the Van Zandt True Vintage wound by Mr Van Zandt himself before he died. Excellant vintage tone!

And Kenny Blue Ray gets a great tone with those Van Zandt Blues that he often uses.

Hi everybody !!!
I just received the Fralin steel pole 43 today, and installed it. Wow!!! Balls, great mids, and soft trebble, but still it has that "single coil bite " that i was looking for! The combination with the neck and middle Van Zandt blues works great. I think we've got a winner.... https://forum.seymourduncan.com/images/icons/icon14.gif
Thumbs up
