What bridge pup w/ Surfers for texas blues?

I'm modifying my guitar and looking for some classic Strat & texas blues tones. The Strat is an Am Std Deluxe alder body / rosewood fretboard. I'm ditching the SCN noiseless (aka lifeless) pups and putting Surfers in the neck and middle. I'll keep the S-1 switch to add some switching variations.

What pup would match in the bridge that would be in SRV/Chris Duarte/Jimi bridge tone territory?

My favorite all time Strat Bridge PuP is the Twangbanger. It covers a lot of ground from Clean to Mean. Check it out.

Texas Hot Custom bridge is commonly matched up with Surfers for that effect.

The Texas Hot bridge is 9.7K. It's not too overpowering for the Neck & middle @ 6.3K?

Out of curiosity any one pair up a Phat Cat in the bridge with surfers in the neck? Would it be too warm and not enough bite?

the cat has some bite for sure, might work never tried it.

the custom bridge is wound with thinner wire than the normal version, its hotter but not overpowering

When I was inquiring about a good texas blues pickup, I was told the Texas Antiquities (TX Hot for Strat). But the price tag discouraged me from getting them. Someone on the phone at Seymour Duncan told me to use an Alnico II Pro Staggered, as it was the closest thing to that pickup in the standard lineup.

I have a Lite Ash Stratocaster (maple neck and fretboard, swamp ash body) with three Alnico II Pro Staggered pickups now. I play Jimi, and it sounds nice for that. I don't play SRV, but I've messed around with some of his licks using my Pro Junior and an ME-50, and the Alnico II Pro Staggered seems to be a very good pickup for his sound.

I'm no expert, but that's what I'd recommend, especially for the bridge, since you want vintage but not super-bright (Alnico V magnets are brighter than Alnico II).

I have both the Surfers Custom bridge and the Texas Hot Custom bridge. I kept them paired with the same neck and middle. I have never had anything to complain about with these.

Someone else was posting that they liked the look of the s-s-nickel covered Hum in a strat. Well me too. I was thinking of ditching my lilJB and replacing it in another Strat; but I like the idea of a Phat Cat too. They would certainly be different applications. Hmm.... need more guitars to support my pickup habit :beerchug:
