what can i expect if i have an impedance mismatch in my reverb tank?

so, the stock DSL401 reverb tank died (4BB3C1D), and i'm looking to replace it to sell the amp. the only common alternative is the 4AB3C1B, used in other marshalls..

what happens if the input impedance isn't an exact match? is there any other way around this?

googling the one i need gives nine results, none of which are any good! one fella in the US, but i'm not keen on the shipping worries and cost (for some stamped steel) and a long wait :(

on the other hand the alternative one is about for £19 or so, from a fair few retailers.. i can order the right one i guess, but it's a massive wait and possibly a lot of hassle! if there was a minor difference, i'd look at getting one.. the stock 'verb didn't sound fantastic anyway!

tubes will usually tolerate mismatch with factor up to 2, especially small ones...

ive tried mismatching impedences a few times and the reverb always sounds weird and sometimes bad. this was always on a tube driven fender type circut

in a 90's SS Fender Chorus amp i have the local shop threw in another Reverb tank from a different Fender model and it did change the reverb sound a lot... it's no where near as loud and sensitive as the original tank was... i assume that is because of a mismatch... i'm not sure how harmfull such a mismatch could be over time either but it works for now...
