What do you guys think about Hamer Standards?

Well, soon I will be getting a new axe and it is most likely going to be a Hamer.
I was looking at the Sunburst and the Standard. I have already tried the sunburst but have not tried the Standard and was wondering what you guess think about the Standard. I love explorers and I think this axe is pretty close, has a set neck and already comes with Duncans.

The American made Hamers are some of the best made guitars out there. I have an old Sunburst Archtop that I love. I've never played a Hamer I didn;t like (except for an import). The Standard is a beauty. You'll love it. Ask Lew or Hamerplayer. They may have had more experience with the Standard.

Hamers are great guitars, I think the quality is right up there with PRS, and way better than Gibson. If that's the style of guitar you want, you can't do better than a Hamer Standard. Great customer service too, I've emailed them a couple of times with questions, and each time I've gotten a helpful response within 24 hours.

I think Hamer's are awesome and the only thing I think they could improve on is the finish. I think the Hamer USA finish is just a little thicker than I'd prefer. I'm looking for the right Hamer Standard myself. I had one for a while but the previous owner ruined it by installing a Kahler. He wanted it back so I sold it back to him. But I loved it other than for that tone sucking Kahler. I want another USA model but one with a tunematic Bridge and stop tailpiece. Lew

Standards are great, I even like most of the import versions I have played as well. A good US will cost you but you won't really find a much better Explorer style guitar, an older one is like gold.

I've never owned a Hamer but played a couple in stores and thought they were excellent guitars; nice tone and very good build quality. I would agree they"re nicer than most of today's Gibsons but I wouldn't part with my Custom Shop Elegant (bought new 8 years ago) for anything less than a stellar McNaught.

I'd love to have one as well. The only Hamer I ever played was like a dream. I imagine that the standard is as well
