what do you guys think of the hartke 410xl cab? also, ohmage inquiries.

super rad stuff

i just put a used one on layaway. it's only $199, so i think it's a pretty good deal compared to the usual $350 new ones go for. i'll be using it in conjunction with an acoustic b200h head since it's pretty much the only bass head with some decent power that i can afford. only issue is that it's an 8ohm cab @400 watts and the head puts out 200 watts @ 4ohms, with no sort of switch to change the head's ohmage. however, the cabinet does have parallel inputs. would running this setup damage either the head or the cabinet or both over time, or even in a short period of time?

thanks:)

ryan.

I don't think you're going to probably damage either the amp or the cabinet, but the cabinet needs more watts that what you've got just to wake up, and you're probably not going to get a great tone by cranking your bass amp into it. Bass systems are designed to be lazy. My bass rig puts out about 950 watts, but I don't use all of that, because it's just "on demand". The power is about being clean. So, I think you need to find another amp that puts out at LEAST 400 watts at 8 ohms. 600 would be better, then you won't need to push what you've got. They're great cabinets, by the way, the Hartke stuff.
