If it had a mic XLR input additional to all that so that you can record an actual amp with that it would be UNBEATABLE!

Seems to me that you would be able to use a XLR to 1/4" converter no? Phantom power is out but a 57 should work.

Wattage, I really have no idea which mics need phantom power and which don't, nor do I know about converting. I don't know if it works.

MesaDCLP and ratherdashing, whatever I do I still need a pre, maybe it's part of the card as Marin suggested or maybe it's external... Whatever I do, I have to boost the signal before it hits the card.
