What do you think of this guitar?

Re: What do you think of this guitar?

I think it's a really cool design, but I don't see it being easy to play on the upper frets

Re: What do you think of this guitar?

Is there enough black in it for the intended audience?

Re: What do you think of this guitar?

All show and no go.

Simple and well executed guitars have the most appeal to me. Esquires, Cabronitas, Gibson Juniors, Barettas, Lynch's Tigers, Friedman's Kellies, Schuldiner's Ricos are hard to beat in that regard. Built for purpose, not just killing time.

Re: What do you think of this guitar?

Interesting responses but what I expected. I think from a practicality standpoint it's a waste of wood but from a "can we build it" standpoint it's a triumph. The attention to detail is insane, even down to the tongue being inlaid on the fretboard.

It's a stage prop. Customer's brief fulfilled. End of story.

Re: What do you think of this guitar?

I think it might work better if the dragon's profile was turned around, facing the other way so that it was more like a Flying V... vaguely. Cool carving job, though!

That's a great idea and probably would've made it playable. And the head stock shape is more like a tail too.

Re: What do you think of this guitar?

Be cool to see it played so we can see how the upper frets work and of course how the whole guitar sounds. Looks incredible.

Re: What do you think of this guitar?

I like the concept and the build but as far as being practical goes its not. The bottom jaw of the dragon would make it almost impossible to play the higher octave.

My design/build for a 36 fret guitar is way more practical than that.

Re: What do you think of this guitar?

I'm guessing those upper three or four frets are whole steps? That reduces it's appeal to me immensely.

Re: What do you think of this guitar?

I was born in the Year of the Dragon. I have a dragon tattoo. People give me all types of dragon themed gifts. My favorite beer glass has a dragon handle.

I laugh at that guitar. Too much dragon.

Yeah thats right its typical of uli jon. My next build will have whole steps from the 26th fret

I think of Kramersteen's wet dream. :bigthumb:

Thanks for thinking of me.

I am doing my own carved style build which will rival this in all its tacky glory.
