What does a JB/Custom hybrid sound like?

There must be a few people on here who have experimented with this combo.


How does it sound ? eg in comparison to a jb

In what guitar(s) have you tried it?

What mags did you try it with?
I'm assuming that people who have tried it have used it as a bridge pickup, but if you tried it in the neck also how was that too?

...and maybe most importantly did you keep it in the guitar?

I have never used one personally, but I have heard from others who have used them (hopefully they'll chime in soon) and they all seem to concur that they sound best with an A5 or ceramic magnet.

Tighter bass from the Custom, more organic than the Custom from the JB, and more grit from the mismatched coils. It's pretty sweet.
