what duncans are most similar to pearly gates and how do they sound different?

I just reinstalled my WLH bridge in my Les Paul after swearing the Custom was going to stay there forever. Rex Rocker pointed out the high-end clank, and now I can't stop hearing it. Miced up, it sounds perfect, but I'm playing in the room. Anyways, it definitely has more mids, more output, and less bass than the 59, so I like it better in this guitar than the 59, and for the moment, the Custom. I like the compression it gives as well.

I know this thread is about the Pearly Gates, and at some point, I'd like to play a set, but until then, I'll just ride ToneFiddler's coattails to try to be relevant in this thread..

Well, i am done and 100% happy. I didn't want to defile the custombuckers by swapping mags became i then couldn't sell them for what they're worth if i decided to go that route. But i saw a post at TGP from someone who swapped A2 into a custombucker and the change he described was exactly what i wanted. That was enough to say F it, gotta do it. Well, i pulled an A2 out of one of my probuckers in my 50s epi and put it in the new LP's bridge custombucker. The change it exactly what i wanted all along. Perfect. And i already live the A3 CB in the neck, so i am done ! Thanks for all the replies. :fing2:
