what free video editing software should I use to sync video to audio?

I might be willing to pay some $$ but lets face it Im using primitive gear just for fun and am not a video editor.

I have a camera, and I make songs in Reaper, and I just want to sync them up so I have a video to go along with my song where the sound is "mixed and mastered" by yours truly in Reaper ;)

this is just for fun, my insane hobbie chugs along

any suggestions are appreciated, cheers :beerchug:

Hmmm... I don't think there is a real easy to use free video editor out there right now.

Just send it to me, I'll edit it for ya.

Reaper doesn't allow you to import video?

Some people use Kino but I don't like it. I actually want the commandline so that I can reuse the things I did via copy and paste and don't have to go all klicki all over again next time.

ffmpeg's commandline is very brutal^H^H^Hrewarding, though, even by Unix commandline standards. But on the bright side you can copy and paste from the internet.

Thanks for the advice, yeah it is time i ditched my lazy ass over command-line parameters. Thanks bro.

Re: what free video editing software should I use to sync video to audio?

My personal suggestion for software to do this is Sony's Vegas - it's a very decent audio package on top of a very decent video editing system, and doesn't break the bank until you go to the full commercial package.

This is a video I shot for a friend (the weird wavering bit, and the jumpiness is YouTube's sludgy 'video stabilization'... The places where it falls out of sync are my fault... *grin*):

Sent from my iPad using a bunch of electrons, copper, and probably some fiber optic cable
