What goes with a PRS HFS?

I've just aquired a Prs Hfs Nickle Bridge Pickup...I play mostly blues and classic rock. Any suggestions for a Neck Pickup? Something of equal output (15 ohms) I would suppose. I was considering a Pearly Gates, but I don't know how that would match up...suggestions?

Wow. Not the pickup for Blues and Classic rock IMO. Pearly wouldn't be hot enough to match up.

I disagree. The HFS is higher output and wouldn't be my first choice but it is very flexible in terms of styles it can do. I am using a PG in the neck slot on three guitars now and I think it would be fine. If you are not locked into the HFS you may consider a set of Seths or a CC / PG combination.

PRS Vintage Bass. You don't realize it yet, but you may not have a choice. PRS does something different, in regards to phase, which makes their pickups NOT jive well with Duncans or Gibsons. If you put a Duncan neck pickup with that HFS, your middle position might sound like a Duck quacking. Just lettin you know before you buy anything. Go on Ebay and wait till a PRS Vintage Bass pops up for sale.
Or, go to a PRS forum and ask if anyone has one, cheap.

Yeah they are reversed. You may need to just flip the magnet in the Duncan to make it work together. They do that on the VB/HFS and many other PRS Pickups to hum cancel on the 5 way rotary.

As a blues-rock player with a PRS Std24, HFS/VB didn't cut it. But your mileage may vary.

Post a wanted to buy at www.birdsandmoons.com and you'll probably be able to get one. That's my main web hangout.
