What goes with a set of Alnico Pro II's?

Hi, I have an Ibanez RG1570L and I've swapped out the stock Bridge/Neck pickups for Alnico Pro II's, but I'm stuck as what to swap out the single coil mid pick up for?

I'm looking for that smooth classic 'Slash' sound and don't want to kill the sweet sound of the Pro II's by picking the wrong mid pickup - any ideas folks?

Thanks,

Aaron

Hi, Thanks - I didn't see a single coil Alnico Pro II on the SD site.

Just been looking at dealer sites and found Alnico Pro II APS-1's and APS-2's (flat and staggered poles) What's the difference??

Cheers

There's the APS1 with staggerd poles and APS2 with flat poles. There's also the alnico 2 Antiquity Texas Hot...that's the one I'd use. Lew

Either the Antiquity Hot or a SSL-1 rw/rp.

actually id use a classic stack. good single coil tone but no hum, cause it doesnt sound like you use the notch positions much

Thanks Guys, so it's between the APS-2, the alnico 2 Antiquity Texas Hot or the Classic Stack.

I pretty much always play mid/neck or neck with mild to medium distortion.

Do you think the sound clips in the Tone Wizard are accurate enough to make a choice out of these three?

There are no clips of a Humbucker neck / SC middle that I have found. They are neck / Bridge humbuckers or Bride / middle SC's.

if u gotta go duncan you gotta go texas hot, i always say kinman has the best single coil pickups though.
