What happens if......?

You use a trem/f spaced bridge humbucker in a non trem/f space HB guitar..like a Les Paul/SG, etc..?

Obviously strings and pole pieces will not line up, but will this cause problems sound/volume-wise?

Thanx in advance.

Re: What happens if......?

Jeff,

Post 1995, NON REISSUE Gibson guitars have a slightly wider string spacing, and in truth a Trembucker works better in these guitars. If you want to use a TB in a non trem guitar drop it in, and check the strings, if the high E lines up you should be ok...

Re: What happens if......?

Thanx for the info...it's most likely going in an Explorer or LP classic..2004/2005 models.

I agree. Finding pickup rmounting rings for the Trembucker is a bit of a problem though. Lew

Re: What happens if......?

I've found them all to be interchangeable for the most part. The pickup rings on my Les Paul fit both types of pickups. Same goes for every other guitar I own.

...what means non reissue guitars? (poor english of mine...) i´m going to buy one gibson explorer pro (new) and change its pups...so should i get a trembucker instead of a standard pup? (if this helps, the nut width is 1 11/16" and the width at the 12th fret is 2.062 ")

Re: What happens if......?

Thanx everyone for the comments.

I had ordered a f-spaced/tb custom (SH5) for my wolfgang, but I've got a friend who owes me a favor that can get me a really good deal on a new Les Paul Standard/Classic or Explorer

So I've got an F-spaced Custom on the way and was just wondering it it will "work". I'ts been awhile since I've used any of the Gibson pups and never used to be that impressed with most, so I was going to drop this in and order another for the wolfgang at a later date. I haven't tried the burstbuckers, but I would prolly end up with a classic or explorer anyway (which come with the ceramic mag 500/496 pups)

I should work fine, just check that it fits in the pickup ring.
