what is f - spacing ?

im talking dimarzio pups here, what guitars would f-spacing be suitable for ?
i emailed them regarding a pup and told them i have an epiphone les paul standard, and the told me to get a f-spaced pup.

f-spaced is fender-spaced. the pole pieces are a little wider to accomodate wider bridges, such as a tremolo. some gibson and epiphone brdiges are a little wider as well, so the f-spaced will line up better with your strings

I just went through this by buying a used tone zone.
it turns out that newer gibsons and epi's both have a wider bridge than old ones so you should use F pups. my buddy got a regular duncan distortion for his SG and guess what? it does not line up,he needs a trembucker duncan.
listen to dimarzio and get the F pup
