What is it with maple necks?

Re: What is it with maple necks?

I have one very bright and american strat (hard ash body and maple neck) and one alder body- rosewood FB american strat. The alder/rosewood strat
eats everything with a 500k pots.
Here`s a pot lowdown on my 4 favorite buckers for the ash/maple strat:
Custom custom is great with 500k volume pots.
The jb,59 and c5 needs a 250k volume pot. The 59 may not give you enough
buttom,though.

my maple neck strat is most likely brighter than yours due to the hard ash body :)

The RG1550 is the RG1570 with a maple fretboard and a pickguard. I don't know about the math side of this topic, but yeah, it's a fairly balanced instrument. I was a bit scared to put the JB since some people here warned me it could end up being very very trebly. Thankfully, it wasn't the case.

I swear I truly love this guitar. :)

Well anyways, yeah, basswood with maple fretboard is still technically a warm instrument.
