Oh.

This thread should be VAULTed, very very informative.

Okay let me rephrase that...the Jimmy Page Humbucker made by Seymour Duncan a few years ago.

Re: What is the closest thing to a Pagebucker in Trembucker form?

was it a custom-shop model? cuz i don't remember ever hearing of a production line pickup made for J.P.

I would think any of the PAF-type pickups would get pretty close to his tone...i mean he never used custom PUPs did he? So I mean anything that sounds similar to the original PAF humbuckers would be good...you could try the Seth Lover or the 59, or i've heard that the Pearly Gates is the ultimate PAF-style tone. As far as i know all of those pickups are available as trembuckers.

if you don't wanna try any of these, and the 'Pagebucker' was a custom shop model, then i'm sure they'd have no problem doing you a custom-ordered trem-spaced pagebucker

you could even call it the Seabassbucker.

There really isn't a lot of info on these pickups...I did see one on ebay for $250.00 last month..but I passed on it.

The Jimmy Page Signature Les Pauls use custom Burstbucker pickups made by Gibson's Custom Shop.

...the ones I'm referring to were made by Duncan based on this pickup.

So I guess my next question is: What Duncan pup is closest to a Burstbucker?

Re: What is the closest thing to a Pagebucker in Trembucker form?

The pickup used in the 90s versions on the Gibson Page LP was a '59 with 4 conductor for the mod. The SD that would come close to the newer one would probably be in the Antiquity line. I think modern day Jimmy prefers Alnico V so an uncovered Antuquity bridge trembucker w/4 conductor would probably be want you want. Vintage Jimmy would be a replica of his '59 pickup which is probably Alnico IV and wound at 8k or lower with nickel cover. If you have a tremspaced pickup not being used have the custom shop rebuild it to your specs. I'm sure they would know what to do if you told them you wanted the "Pagebucker". I think a low output AL4 bridge p'up would be cool too...sort of an Alnico IV Pro" thing would be killer.
