What is the quivering/beating thing you hear in this file?

Re: What is the quivering/beating thing you hear in this file?

Assuming the strings aren't buzzing at all, it sounds like the pickups are too close to the strings. With them too close you get a flanging type effect. I had this problem with my 1994 MIA strat too. Lowering the pickups some got rid of it.

^ is probably the problem.....the pickups are pulling the strings slightly out of tune

if you lower them, it should eliminate it

one of my major gripes with people. A lot of people will put the pickups all close to the strings thinking it'll give them higher output. Nope, it just makes it sound like poop. Could be other things, but most likely it's oscillation caused by string pull.

It does increase the output but past a certain point, yeah it does sound like doo. Very harsh and soul-less.

The quiver sounds like a case of "Strat-itis". Magnet too close to the string.

ANother vote for stratitis, pickups (esp the neck) too close to the strings.....
