Found out it's a Peterson SP-1. Not sure why you'd need a tuner next to a tuner.

Maybe he uses the boss as a muter? (His website says he does that with his pitchblack, so if that's missing he probably mutes with the boss).

I would think that he has the TU-2 on all the time, but with the mute bypassed, so he can watch his tuning while he plays. If he needs a quick tune, he can use the Peterson for the accuracy. Just a theory.

I'm guessing the guitar tech uses the Peterson to tune between songs.
