what kind of fretboard do you prefer?

i always liked the looks of maple but i prefer the rosewood tone.

Ebony all the way. Nice and smooth, looks much more beautiful than rosewood IMO. I do have some rosewood guitars and my strat is maple(which is perfect for a strat), but ebony is schweet...

I always thought Pau Ferro looked and sounded great. Plus the fact that it isn't on a lot of guitars raises my interest as well

On Gibsons and Hamers: Rosewood all the way. Brazilian sounds richer than Indian, but Indian is all you'll get these days.

On Fenders: I slightly favor the "pop" and "faster tonal response" of maple...but rosewood sounds richer and fatter and I like it too.

The frets make a diff too!

Medium jumbos on a Fender neck add mass and weight to a neck and make it sound fatter and "better"....at least to me.

I like rosewood best for electrics.

Sometimes, Ebony for acoustics and basses.

I never really bond with maple necked guitars, so I voted Rosewood. Eventually, when I pick up a Tele, I'll get that one
in maple, since I do want another maple neck. Right now,
none of my guitars have a maple fretboard.

i like tone of all of em (never heard of pau ferro though), but im gonna say maple cause it looks really cool and is rarer, at least for non-fenders.
