What kind of strings do you use?

What brand of strings does everybody use? and guages? Just wondering, havent seen any posts about it anywhere on the internet.

D'Addario 9's for me. I like 9's... Great for bending. Never really noticed that supposed huge tone improvement when you move up to 10's.

I only use .010s on all of my guitars but I use different brands to compliment a particular guitar...My primary strings of choice are the D,Addario EXLs and I also use GHS Nickel Rockers,DR Pure Blues,and GHS Boomers if I want to brighten a guitar up...The GHS Nickel Rockers are great for taming an otherwise too bright guitar..The D'Addarios are right up the middle between real bright and darker sounding..

I think I'll give those nickel rockers a try some time. I use the D'Addario EXL 10's, but my guitar always seems a bit bright.

YUP ! another D'Addario .010s user here. i like them Cuz' they seem to last
longer and don't break often. I like the sound of older strings. New strings
sound to bright to me?? (any brand) I get alot of miles out of D'addario
before I change them.

On my ESP and Ibanez, Ernie Ball 10's

On my Schecter tele, D'Addario 10's

On my Acoustic, Elixir 12's

On my classical, normal tension whatever I get my hands on, using Augustine's right now

Daddario 10's in standard, but am thinking picking up some of the ernie ball 11-54's for D tuning. That will probably wait untill I get another guitar though.

I use Gibson Vintage Reissue 10's. I've never heard of anyone who's tried these and not liked them, wheras I've tried D'addarios and haven't liked them much. the VR's last me a good 3-4 months.

GHS Boomers (10's) and Ernie Ball 10's, but lately I've really been diggin' the Boomers more. Dunno why.

Up until recently, was using Ernie ball Regular slinkys (10s) in stainless steel for the first 6 strings on my 7-string axes, with a Rotosound stainless steel 55 bass string for the seventh string.

The stainless steel strings were starting to chew up my fretwire though, so I've gone back to nickel wound steel 7-string sets, Ernie Ball 10-56.

Nickel strings, everything from 00.9's to 10's to 11's, the latter I tune down to D.

Ernie Ball slinkys 9-42, on 7 strings, I use the same but with a 52 added. I down tune 1/2 step to Eb on 6 strings (Lynch!), as well as my 7 strings (Bb). On the BC Rich, I tuned it to the Metallica St. Anger dropped C tuning.

Brand: Whatever is on sale, seriously- i really don't care about the brand that much. Even the 20 packs for $10 at GC's every weekend super sale no-name strings work for me but I usually go with GHS Boomers or Ernie Ball Super Slinky's.

I would like to try Black Diamond sometime but I have a full case of Ernie Ball Super Slinkys I am working my way through right now.

I have 5 guitars so I can use the same strings for well over 6 months on each guitar. I don't break strings very often.

Can you buy electric guitar strings where the 3rd string (g in standard) is wound, like on acoustics?
