Hello all,

Picked this thing up and well gotta be honest I don't know WHAT it is...

If anyone has some ideas man post em up!!

- It really appears to have a actual 3 piece body you cant see it great in the pics but there is 3 pieces there so it aint plywood.
- the neck really has me swingin at the fences
- the neck pocket/neck back are no help AT ALL
- the strings load thru the bridge, not the back of the body like a squire
- the bridge has two bolts in the top of the chrome part like some squires but yet not all squires....

Did they make a Squire tht actually had a real 3 piece body?
I can get more pics if it helps, I am just lost here...

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Re: What Kind Of Tele is this? Help Me Solve The Mystery

could it possibly be one of the japanese reissue tele's? that's what I'm betting, with that thick neck and the 21 frets and the finish. possibly even a nocaster reissue? that's my best guess

Re: What Kind Of Tele is this? Help Me Solve The Mystery

That's a 6 saddle-modern bridge, but the saddles look odd. I don't know, but it's a nice lookin' Tele. Sound/play good?

Re: What Kind Of Tele is this? Help Me Solve The Mystery

It looks like one of the Japanese reissues to me. Is there a serial number on it anywhere?

Re: What Kind Of Tele is this? Help Me Solve The Mystery

hey guys, no serial number anywhere :(

I was wondering if that body is a affinity squire, only because of the top loading bridge, the jack plate etc.

the problem with that theory is that it has an honest 3 piece body, not veneer, ply, veneer...

i am stumped

Re: What Kind Of Tele is this? Help Me Solve The Mystery

my telecaster is a top loader and it's a 1994 mexican made telecaster standard. Fender also made a few american made Tele's that were top loaders, so that's not always a good barometer of where it was made

Re: What Kind Of Tele is this? Help Me Solve The Mystery

I wonder if it isn't a clone of some kind. If not, it's definatly had work.

1. For any years RI Tele, the frets are HUGE.
2. I've not seen very many peghead adjustable truss rods on Teles. Most, but not all, are heel adjust. The body doesn't even have a relief to accept a heel adjstable neck.
3. Something just doesn't quite look right on the body shape to me. Something about the shape of the upper "horn" seems off to me.
4. If it were a squire, it would have a squire badge, not a Fender badge. With no serial number on it anywhere, I'm guessing that atleast the neck is a knock off neck with a fender badge applied. Same could be true for the body.

Re: What Kind Of Tele is this? Help Me Solve The Mystery

I'm thinking Parts-O-Caster with an applied headstock decal.

Re: What Kind Of Tele is this? Help Me Solve The Mystery

Could it be one of the korean fender lite ash teles?

It looks surprisingly alot like the Squier Butterscotch Affinity. The decal is not the same, but everything else is very similar. They used Alder I believe on that model. Every once in a while they use a better wood on a specific model. Just like the Squier 51 is Basswood.
