What neck pickup would go with a Custom in an Epi SG?

I don't really use the neck pickup as much as I'd like to. I'm planning on swapping the stock out eventually, I just don't know what I want. I currently use this axe to play metal/hardcore stuff in drop C. Any suggestions that would go well with the Custom? Thanks!

I would recomend the Jazz, the aph II or the 59. The jazz is the brightest out of the bunch. My personal favorite is the aph II. It has a very smooth and warm sound but, not muddy at all!!!

OK, I just read in the Vault that the Jazz isn't good under distortion. Is this true? Also how are the Pearly Gates and Distortion neck pickups?

The Distortion might be a bit too hot to balance properly with the Custom. As far as the PG goes, It's my faveorite neck humbucker in my LP, it's smooth, has good higs, clean lows, and enough midrange to push an amp when playing leads with the neck. The APH will be smoother sounding than the PG and have a better OD tone than the Jazz, though the Jazz does have pretty good distortion characteristics, it's just different from what most people are used to hearing. It's kind of boxy and tight (in a good way) whereas a good PAF is round and has a hollow "thunk" to it when driven. I think that you can't go wrong with any of these combined with a Custom, it's just a matter of your personal preferance.
