I currently have my telecaster set up as an esquire with a Jerry Donahue in the bridge. Looking to add back a neck pickup but only want something that will be a hum canceling in the middle position. Open to all suggestions including traditional telecaster and Stratocaster neck pickups, P 90s, etc.

I thought tele neck pickups were already rwrp.

Since it seems noone is gonna get back to you on the polarity of the jd, I would just use a compass.

Re: What Neck Pup is RWRP with a Jerry Donahue Bridge?

The several neck single coils that I've checked that are part of a 2 pickup set it does say that on the pages.

You are right! But I didn't see it mentioned in the sets, which is strange.

You can also take a single coil that you know the polarity of and stick it up against the jd and see if it repels or attracts.

Seems like this would be basic SD info. Haven't been able to reach anything but voicemail at customer support all week.

The JD is not part of a set.

Using a compass will only give me polarity, not reverse wound.

Re: What Neck Pup is RWRP with a Jerry Donahue Bridge?

reversing the leads fixes that. are you planning on using the jd with a tele neck pup or something else? if its a tele neck pup, any of the normal duncan tele neck pups should be rw/rp the jd in the bridge.

Re: What Neck Pup is RWRP with a Jerry Donahue Bridge?

Standard Duncan Strat pickups are South up, RWRP are North up, correct?
Humbuckers are Stud:South, Screw:North, right?

What are Teles?

my duncan tele bridge pups are top south, i dont use tele neck pups so cant confirm anything there

*Does "normal duncan tele neck pups" include the Antiquities?

*I was actually originally hoping to use an Antiquity P90 I have lying around but was told by tech support last week that it's the same polarity as the JD, which is why I was rethinking that and looking at standard Tele pups.

Re: What Neck Pup is RWRP with a Jerry Donahue Bridge?

You have both pickups??

Solution 1: The Ant says rwrp, the JD doesn't. 90% sure that means they're rwrp to each other.
Solution 2: Stick the JD to the outer long edge of the Ant. If they repel, they're opposite polarity.
Solution 3: Use a compass.
Solution 4: Stick them in your guitar.

Is your guitar body routed for 3 pickups, or just two? Ex: P90, Strat single coil, Tele single coil. If you can fit 3 in there, you can have all kinds of options - just get a custom pickguard.

South leading bridge north leading neck except maybe the Antiquities.

i have an antiquity I tele bridge pup and im 99% sure its top south, i can double check when i get home

Re: What Neck Pup is RWRP with a Jerry Donahue Bridge?

Again, I'm looking for an NECK pickup that is RWRP with the Jerry Donahue.

I'm actually now thinking of using a Stratocaster neck pickup, But the question is the same: which one will be RWRP with the JD? I'm looking at either of the antiquity Strat neck pickups, the A2 Pro, or the Five Two.

Also wondering if I go with a Strat pup, should I be looking for a MIDDLE pickup in order for it to be RWRP with the JD bridge?
