Hello Airnorton,

English is a hard language to master. Thanks for giving this board a try.

I'm not qualified to answer any questions about Dimarzio pickups or give advice about them. Others on this board can give you better answers.

Here are three questions that other forum members will probably ask you.

1. What amp are you using?

2. What don't you like about your current bridge pickup?

3. What do you want out of your bridge pickup?

Re: What of this Dimarzio's pickups choose?

^
What he said PLUS these questions:

4. In what musical genres do you usually play?

5. Do you play in Standard EADGBE tuning or something different?

Re: What of this Dimarzio's pickups choose?

If you tell us your native/better language, we can try to give better responses using some sort of translator.

Re: What of this Dimarzio's pickups choose?

Hello, first, thank for you interest, i am argentinian, and my years of games, movies, comedys and a help for a translate, help me something in this hard language..
1) i am using a marshall mg 100dfx, the truth is I don't like very much this amp, In the future i want to change it to a Laney lx or something but Don't care for now.
2)I like, but, i was thinking in a change, dont have the sound i like, anyway, is for improve a little the sound of my guitar.
5) In E Standart
3) I dont understand, but, if what you mean is, what i am looking in the pickup im looking for strongs riffs, with body, i was thinking, in the bridge strongs riffs, convincing, and a neck pickup for Solos but first i want to focus on the bridge pickup
4) I usually play, trash, heavy, and hard rock if i have wanted, but the hard, doesn't care
I was looking for your help to remove(clear) the pickups that do not match with the basswood EQ
Sorry if you don't understand or something, is hard for me xD

playing thrash and heavy music choosing from your list I would certainly give the Dominion and gravity storm a try.

Re: What of this Dimarzio's pickups choose?

What you think about D activator bridge dp220 and super distortion 1 dp100?, because im think the gravity has much mids

Re: What of this Dimarzio's pickups choose?

(telling him not to shy away from middy pickups just because, they can be shaped afterwards)

(telling him his Marshall is so ****ing gainy he might as well concentrate on definition and tone instead of other things)

Re: What of this Dimarzio's pickups choose?

Re: What of this Dimarzio's pickups choose?

Re: What of this Dimarzio's pickups choose?

Re: What of this Dimarzio's pickups choose?

The Super Distortion is a do-it-all kind of pickup and it's one of my favorites. However, I tend to like the D-Sonic more (with the pole pieces towards the bridge) because it has a better clean sound, a little less output, a little brighter and more clarity. It's a warm pickup if you install it with the pole pieces towards the bridge. That would be my suggestion. Other than that the Tone Zone would be a great choice if you want something alnico based.

Re: What of this Dimarzio's pickups choose?

How is the tone zone sound? because the comments told is a pickup it falls short to heavy and trash, is this truth?
I care the gain only, not the Clean, for more guidance :)

Re: What of this Dimarzio's pickups choose?

I think Rob Caggiano (formerly from Anthrax) uses a Tone Zone. If that's your kind of sound, I'd go with that. I noticed that you said that you don't like your current amp, I'd try a different amp now. I know you said that you don't care about that right now, but if you change your bridge pickup, you have to find an amp that works well with it or get a new bridge pickup. At the same time, you can possibly find a new amp that works with your new bridge pickup.

If it's gain and no cleans then the Tone Zone is still good, but you seem to probably prefer a D-Sonic, Crunch Lab, or Evolution II. For neck pickups the Liquifire is awesome, and the Evolution neck is also great. I've been playing with the Evo 2 lately and I think it's a pretty good upgrade from the Evolution. I love the sound people get with the Evolution, but it just never fit me. I like the Evo 2 a lot more.

Not that I respect your opinion, but I was comparing tone zone with my pickups list(like Super distortion 1, d activator, gravity, etc) :)

Sorry if I write wrong, How I say, i dont speak english very well

Re: What of this Dimarzio's pickups choose?

D activator is more of a modern bridge PU in my opinion

I have not played the d activstor x tho but have heard great things about it

Tone zone is a thick bridge pickup. Not enough bite for me but an awesome pickup none the less. Great in a bright bodied guitar

Super D rules. I love that pickup. Same with the Duncan Custom

What bands do you like the sound of? That will help with finding pickups and amps

Re: What of this Dimarzio's pickups choose?

Trash and heavy, and sometimes power metal but this is very similar to heavy and trash, i mean, can eq and done...
Megadeth, metallica, pantera, iron maiden, anthrax, sometimes slayer, etc, Trash and heavy for resume, i was thinking in a bridge pickup with powerful bass, strongs riffs, and that, and in the neck a pickup for solos, maybe with more treble and a little more o mid for the solos, but the neck after the bridge pickup, sorry for my english :S

Re: What of this Dimarzio's pickups choose?
