Just bought a Eastman T486. The SD Jazz is too bright....what would be a warmer and a lot less "glass" alternative?
What pickup am I needing?

That's good advice in my opinion, and a magnet swap won't cost you much. Pearly Gates or Seth Lover are other candidates, but I would try a magnet swap first and see how you like it then (your Jazz will indeed become an Alnico II Pro when switching the A5 magnet to an Alnico 2).

That's like a Gibson ES-335...right? And the pickups have nickel covers?
Going to be harder to swap the magnet than if it were uncovered...especially if the Jazz is wax potted.
I'd sell the Jazz and get something else.
A Seth Lover would be nice in that guitar!

Yeah, I would do the magnet swap (get an A2) first. If you don't like the character of your newly-made Alnico II Pro, go for something like a Seth Lover.

Bridge is a 59.....Seth may be the way to go. Just wanting less glass with a warmer, rounder top end.
