What pickup set?

I picked up a Ibanez 270DX with a FloydRose. Basswood body and bolt on neck.

Has HB-S-HB w/1-Vol & 1-Ton control and 5-way switch

Looking for a versatile setup if possible...Blues to Metal. My other guitars are active and more hard rock Heavy Metal.

What pickup combo would work the best?

Thinking JB 59's maybe.

Any Thought would be great.

JB/Jazz is popular for a reason. You can do pretty much anything with them.

Try a Quarter Pound in the middle. I played a superstrat with one of those in the middle and the 2 and 4 positions were interesting.

As an aside, the Black Winters do waaay more than just extreme metal.

I've used standard spaced humbuckers in a trem equipped guitar and couldn't really tell a difference in sound quality when I swapped in a trembucker of the same model. Only changed because the misaligned pole pieces were bugging the hell out of me.
