Re: What pickups for a 335?
Strat Master,
In my earlier post I didn't mention that my ES-335 was actually a 1980 Gibson ES-335 CRR with a factory coil-split switch and FACTORY "DIRTY FINGER" p/u's. They just aren't my style; younger Heavy Metal enthusiasts might appreciate them, but for me they were like an entire bottle of Ketchup on a small order of fries!
The SD '59's are more mild mannered and allow the guitarist to hear some clean tones without having to resort to a high powered amp just to have some clean "head room". Strat Master, "Dirty Fingers" p/u's go back to the late 70's.
