What poweramp should i use, can i change the impedance of a cab?

I’m in the market for a new amp and i’ve found a Master Effects Martyr which is to replicate the 8100 sounds, i want to use a Marshall Cab to fit the 8100/Martyr vibe and was wondering if the Powerstage 200 is a good fit for a 16 ohm cab. or also can you replace 16 ohm marshall speakers with 8 ohm reaper hps from warehouse? will that change the impedance of the cab and make it more suitable? it says at 8 ohms it uses 117 watts instead of 200, what does that mean? or what other poweramp should i use? so many questions

Yes, if you replace the 16 Ohm Celestions with 8 Ohm speakers, the impedance of the cab will be 8 Ohms.
Or you could just wire up two of the 16 Ohm Celestions to give you an 8 Ohm cabinet, with two spares.

Yes, the Powerstage 200 is a good choice to go with a preamp pedal. Yes, it will work with a 16 ohm cab, but will be putting out ~60W, it's solid state, a higher impedance won't hurt it, it will just limit how much current it can put out so therefore lowering the output power.

Yes, you can change the speakers therefore changing the impedance of the cab. Probably a good idea to mark the cab with the new impedance in case someone uses it with a tube amp in the future, tube amps are much less forgiving about impedance mismatches.

You could also just rewire the existing 16 ohm speakers for 4 ohm. It would give full power of PowerStage with all four speakers and you wouldn't need to replace anything.

4 ohm isn't as common though, so make sure to label it well to avoid any unfortunate mistake in the future.
