What pups for Hamer to get Chevele-ish tones through a recto?

I may be jumping the gun here because I might like the stock pups (It's the GAS :banghead: ), but I'm wondering what type of pup would get me best into a sound sort of like chevelle. I Know, it's not a PRS and they play Mark IV amps, but I'm just trying to get in the ballpark with my own tone with my Recto.
Here's a pic of the guitar. It's one of the cheaper Hamers, but it looks nice...

I was thinking of JB, Distortion, or a Custom. Maybe even an Alnico II. Something to give the bass some real definition and the highs some fatness is the general Idea. I'd really like your suggestions.

Also, I'll be switching back to the 6l6s in the Recto.

Big bass and fat highs sound like you're describing the Custom or C5. I personally like the Custom better ( mids are more up front than those of the C5). Pair it with a PGn or 59 and you're in buisness.

It won't make your Recto sound like a Mark, but it should sound good. :burnout:

Thanks Benjy26! I'm really concidering the custom. I want something with a good amount of mids, and even treble, I can dial in the bass. I;m not really looking for fat bass, but the bass has to be tight and really defined. I'd like the highs to be fat, not shrill. Something with a good amount of presence without being steril. I'm not wanting a scooped pup so I'd be more inclined to go with the Custom over the C5. And I'm worried about the JB being to thin up high, but not too much about the mid frequency thing.

Anyother suggestions?

I was leaning to the JB at first. How would the Custom and JB be different?

The Custom has a bigger, tighter bass than the JB. It also has a more even midrange an more aggressive highs. For heavy rythms and all around rock, I liked the Custom more than the JB in my Hamer. The JB sings well and is a good lead player's pickup, but it doesn't have the low end authority of the Custom.
