Re: what sd pu for strat got a few in spare parts box
A Jazz SH-2n will work just fine in the bridge, actually perfectly!!! If I had to pick one bridge pickup to use the rest of my life that would be it!!! The SH-2 is just a great pup but the neck pickup is wound a little less hot & has more of a mid scooped sound than the Bridgbucker but I like the whole Mid Scooped sound? You can do a mag swap & essentially turn it into a SH-2B or something that sounds very close? I.M.H.O. the Neck Bucker is the perfect Humbucker for just about anything & it will work in anything!!! It's going to sound great in a Alder or Basswood Stratocaster & just as good in a Mahogany S.G.. So if your looking for a "SAFE" pickup to chose from the S.D. line I'd go with a SH-2, neck or bridge, or a SH-4 JB? There's a reason the JB is Duncan's most popular Humbucker, it's also extremely versatile!!! If you wanted to do the classic Hot Rod set, JB bridge & SH-@ neck, I'm sure you could find someone looking to trade on the Post?
