bought a indonesia strat and 3 pickups cheap there are 2 sd sh2n neck pickups and a sd antiquity surf middle pickups.for sure want 1 jazz in neck and sell the other and get a sd hum bridge which one ? the jb seems popular how would they sound with a surf sc pu.I mostly play blues lead or mess around with jazz chords.I would not think the jazz sh2n would sound good in bridge .if ididnt use surf in middle what would be good choose for a middle pu

You could use the Jazz neck in the bridge. Maybe just swap a UOA5 magnet into it to bring out a bit more mids. Of course a JB in the bridge would be just fine too. Much hotter though.

A Jazz SH-2n will work just fine in the bridge, actually perfectly!!! If I had to pick one bridge pickup to use the rest of my life that would be it!!! The SH-2 is just a great pup but the neck pickup is wound a little less hot & has more of a mid scooped sound than the Bridgbucker but I like the whole Mid Scooped sound? You can do a mag swap & essentially turn it into a SH-2B or something that sounds very close? I.M.H.O. the Neck Bucker is the perfect Humbucker for just about anything & it will work in anything!!! It's going to sound great in a Alder or Basswood Stratocaster & just as good in a Mahogany S.G.. So if your looking for a "SAFE" pickup to chose from the S.D. line I'd go with a SH-2, neck or bridge, or a SH-4 JB? There's a reason the JB is Duncan's most popular Humbucker, it's also extremely versatile!!! If you wanted to do the classic Hot Rod set, JB bridge & SH-@ neck, I'm sure you could find someone looking to trade on the Post?

I think the jazz neck works great in the bridge of a 24.75" scale guitar but it might be a touch too bright in a 25.5" scale guitar. You can try it and see if you like it.

I think the JB makes a fine choice for a bridge humbucker in a Strat, but it will be quite a bit louder than the middle and neck position pickups. So, considering your jazz neck and surf middle I would go with a Pearly Gates bridge trembucker in your Strat if I was you. The Pearly Gates will still be a bit louder than the others but it will not blow them out of the water. Pearly Gates make great Strat bridge humbuckers/trembuckers.

thanks for great input .If i use these 3 pickups it would be kindy a odd mix which might be kool and could allways swap out if dont like. Saw a clip on pearly gates in strat to see how they are , really liked that tone .Iwill buy one and decide if going in this strat or one of my others so thanks for the input. Thanks for the input
