what should i add to my rig now?

i have a humble rig, and it works fine for me

zw OD (some ppl dislike it, it seems fine for me)
amt astral tube / tube magnum
engl e530 and a mesa 112 cab

im happy with the distortion i can tweak out with the current rig, metallica, lamb of god, god forbid etc, i run it through clean channel for older thrash sound and through lead channel for more modern middy sound.

i'd like to have some basic effects pedal around to improve the lead sound a bit.

which of the following do i go for first, and which brand/model:

compressor

chorus

delay

I'm not sure if you really need any of them.

Before those, I'd get some sort of multi-effect pedal like the Line 6 blue Modulation pedal.
You can always find a good effect to use on clean parts, just by turning the rotary dial till something appeals to you.

As for lead tone, your next purchase should be a wah pedal.

Chorus.....a bit of an 80's clean tone
Compressor.....most useful to a country or funk clean player.
Delay.....mostly for adding a spacial or ambient vibe. If you get one for distorted tones, make sure you get a rack unit for your effects loop. Delay pedals sound good for cleans but can get a bit indistinct for solo tones. For that, it's better in the FX loop.

so it's g major or something i should be looking at~got ya.

i have a digitech rp350. i tried it in the loop, all the effects do not stand out at all, i am not sure why...i set the amp/cab settings on rp350 to direct, using only effects but i hear no difference...
