What sounds like a Hot Rails neck, but has a little more treble?

I have a GMW Strat with an alder body, maple neck and Floyd Rose bridge, an 80's Distortion in the bridge and a Hot Rails in the neck w/a 500k pot. While I like the output of the neck Hot Rail, it is not bright enough for me. I'm not looking for a lot more treble, maybe a notch or two. The tone chart rates it a 4/7/5 (T/M/B). I play strictly metal.:alcoholic

Any suggestions?

I hear ya, I have a few with a similar hum bridge and single neck set up. a Hot Rail in the middle of a H/S/S set up works out awesome to resolve the issue... especially if you put a bridge model in the middle position.

have you looked into the STK-S2 Hot Stack? a little more treble, with a little less mids and lows... but a little more output.

there's also the JB Jr. just a wee bit less output, but the tone curve would work out.

If you want to stay w/Duncan, I say Cool Rails. While you'll lose some output, it definitely has more relative treble. Plus, you'll retain the advantages of the same design you're currently using...i.e. low string pull, no pole alignment issues.

Thanks for the input. I like really hot neck pickups and I'm not against using a bridge pickup in the neck position (heck, my Les Paul has an 80's JB in the neck:cool2:). Problem is all bridge pickups tend to be made darker to compensate for the brighter tones. The JBjr neck looks cool, but it is weaker than what I've got now and the frequency doesn't look to be much more than the hot rail neck :scratchch.

Any other opinions? I am open to other companies pickups. :cool2:
