What speaker?

Ok so im going to be replacing the speaker in my 50 watt Peavey Valve King its a 112. Im looking for somthing with a nice middy punch and some tight bass or atleast not muddy. Thanks. Im not to knowledgeable about speakers so if you need more info then say so.

I've heard GREAT things about the Eminence Red Fang. Their version of the Celestion Alnico Blue. Contact Dave at Avatar, tell him what type of music/sound you're looking for and you'll save a few bucks on your speaker.

punchy mids and tight bass sounds like a Vintage 30 for me ... but I dunno how it would sound in a combo!

yeah you basically described a v30, but i'd go with an eminence governor, just because they got rid of all the harsh frequencies & those'll be a lot more noticeable in a 1x12

they're cheaper & higher wattage, too

Also id like it to not break up to easily. Is the govoner still what I should be looking at or do you have other recommendations? thanks
